Jonathan Sanders has been drawing and painting since he was a child, but it was only after finishing his art degree that the adventure of travel began to inspire his work . Jonathan craved to see Africa and its people as well as experience the wildlife and landscape. "It was standing on the shores of Lake Turkana with the hot wind in my face that I felt a sence of belonging. This inhospitable land, 'the cradle of mankind', caught my imagination and has inspired my work ever since."
Jonathan begins his compositions with a quick monotone base that changes as his work progresses. He applies colour as
soon as possible, layer upon layer. The variety is infinite and exciting as he portrays an impression and sense of time and
place in his artwork. |
